Note: Please ensure that your device is fully up to date with all required updates
from the device manufacturer. The screenshots below may differ based on the version
of IDV that you have enabled.
When a Signing Package with IDV enabled is sent out, a signer must go through the IDV process prior to signing the document(s) or joining the VSR meeting.
See: How To Set Up a Signing with Identity Verification
- The signer receives an email notification with a link to Verify & Sign or in the case of a VSR, the meeting invitation will have a link to Verify
- Clicking on the link prompts the signer to start the verification process. The signer needs to select the country of residence and agree to Syngrafii's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and click on Next.
- Depending on the policy selected, the signer is prompted to provide verification information.
- If the selected verification policy includes Identity, the signer will be presented with identity-related questions.
- In the case of document verification, the signer is required to provide a Selfie and photos of their Identification Document. If the signer started the process on a non-mobile device, they will be transitioned to a mobile device to complete the verification process. This can be done by either sending a link by text message or by scanning the QR code.
- When the signer opens the link on their mobile device, they are provided with certain recommendations for best results and a Continue button to proceed to the next screen.
- On the next page, they are prompted to select a document type for verification. The available options are but are not limited to (varies by country):
- Driver's License - requires a photo of the front and back of the document and a live selfie
- Passport or visa - requires a photo of the identification page of the document and a live selfie
- Government Issued Photo ID - requires a photo of the front and back of the document and a live selfie
- Once the document type is selected, they will be prompted to select the country and the province/state (if applicable) where the document was issued.
- On the next screen, they are prompted to get ready with the document to take photos. Once ready they need to click on the Start button.
- Photo of a document:- To get a good quality clear photo of a document, here are some tips:
- Place the document on a dark, flat surface.
- Avoid direct overhead lighting and turn off the flash to reduce any glare.
- Take the photo directly above the document.
- Ensure that all four edges of the document are visible within the photo.
The example below shows how to take photos of the front and back of a driver's license. When you hit Start on the previous screen, the application prompts you to capture the front of your driver's license. Initially, it is on auto-capture mode, and you have to make sure that the entire document is visible inside the guidelines. Once the entire document is visible inside the guidelines, the application will automatically capture the photo and ask you for confirmation to continue or retake the photo.
On your confirmation to continue, the application will be prepared to take a photo of the back of the driver's license. If for some reason it is not able to take a photo of the document, it will display an error, and the capture mode will switch from auto to manual. Once you are ready to take a photo, you need to click on the Take Photo button.
- Live Selfie:- To get a good quality live selfie, here are some tips:
- Stand in a source of natural lighting.
- Turn off your flash to reduce any glare.
For document ID verification, after you have taken photos of the document, you will be prompted to take a live selfie. Once you are ready, tap on Start. It switches to camera mode and the front camera will be activated. You need to position your face inside a circular frame. You will be directed to move your face closer or further to get a better selfie. Once your face is positioned inside the circular frame, your selfie is auto-captured and asks you for confirmation to continue or retake the photo.
If for some reason it is not able to capture the selfie, it will display an error, and the capture mode will switch from auto to manual. Once you are ready to take a selfie, you need to click on the Take Photo button. In some older devices, auto-capture is not available and you will have to manually take the photo.
- On the next screen, you are provided with an opportunity to review the photos taken, before submission. Once finalized, tap Submit.
- Next is a confirmation screen that the Identity Documentation has been submitted successfully. The identity documentation is being verified in the backend. You can tap the Continue button to see the results of the verification.
- Now the platform verifies all the information and documents supplied and provides the results of the verification. Once the verification is successful, the user is presented with the Sign Document/Join Video Signing Room link.
